East Milton Cottage
Strathconon is one of the most beautiful Scottish glens, yet remains secluded and undiscovered by most visitors to the Highlands.
Strathconon is the ideal base for your Highland holiday, only 35 minutes from Dingwall and
45 minutes from Inverness. Ullapool and the west coast are 50 miles to the west. Explore the Black Isle and the Moray coast to the east. North lies lovely Sutherland and Caithness.
It is a good base for the popular North Coast 500 route, which passes through Marybank at the east end of the glen
Location
East Milton Cottage is located about 12 miles into Strathconon from the village of Marybank. Strathconon is a cul-de-sac, so there is little traffic on the local roads. East Milton Cottage overlooks the River Meig, with views up the glen and to the surrounding mountains.
Wildlife
From the cottage you may see red deer gathering in the late afternoon in the fields opposite the cottage. They occasionally come into the field in front of the cottage and look over the fence! Buzzards and red kites are common and you may glimpse a golden eagle.
